Moves
Subscribers who perform moves in the SSM are not only updating their address, but may be selecting a new rate based on the new delivery address. That is why only subscribers and not general users can perform moves. An active subscription is necessary to enter a move.
After the address is entered, it is cleaned by Newzware and the SSM attempts to route the address. If the user is now carrier delivered and the address cannot be routed, mail rates are shown and the user must select a new rate, one for mail delivery. Likewise, if the subscriber is a mail subscriber and the address entered can be routed, the user is shown carrier rates. This feature can be turned off. By default it is on. The SSM can simply do a move without a rate change if desired. After the rate is selected, the move transaction is entered into Newzware. Internet only subscribers moving to a mail or carrier delivered rate also are required to select a new rate. Again, this can be turned off. Only when a subscriber move does not end up changing the delivery method is the address just changed on the subscriber record.
Moves can be edited and removed as long as the move has not yet been processed.
